Did you know that by consuming these processed foods, we end up putting so much sugar into our bodies? We can get the same sugary pleasure by replacing some of these treats with fruits. Not only will we stay fuller (because of the fiber), it takes care of the fruit portion of our diet and gets us some natural sugar.
Summer fruits are many - berries, cherries, apricots, apples, plums, watermelon, oranges, pears, cantaloupe, lychee, mangoes, grapes, grapefruit, passion fruit and so much more... The thought of digging my teeth into freshly plucked juicy fruits, already has my mouth watering.....
There are many great ways to incorporate healthy fruits into daily eating. Try making smoothies, milkshakes, fruit salad or parfait. You could even make your own ice cream and control the amount of fat and sugar or baking some delicious fruit pies and cakes with fruits in them. If nothing else, just eat the fruit by itself!
So the next time you crave for something sweet, grab a fruit from the fridge instead! Not only will it satisfy that sugar urge, you will be doing yourself a big favor.
